چکیده
The QCD expectations for the behaviour of the deep inelastic scattering structure functions in the region of small values of the Bjorken parameter x are summarized. The Balitzkij, Lipatov, Fadin, Kuraev (BFKL) equation which sums the leading powers of α s ln(1/x) is described and confronted with the " conventional " formalism based on the leading order QCD evolution equations. The small x behaviour of the spin dependent structure function g 1 is also discussed. The dedicated measurements of the hadronic final state in deep inelastic scattering at small x probing the QCD pomeron are described. This includes discussion of the deep inelastic scattering accompanied by forward jets as well as production of forward prompt photons and π 0-s. Finally the basic facts concerning the deep inelastic diffraction are briefly summarized.

Gauge field configurations appropriate for the infrared region of QCD is proposed. Using the usual QCD action, confinement is realized as in the London theory of Meissner effect.

It is shown that by assuming Gribov factorization to hold at low x one obtains a simple relation between the structure function of the proton and that of the photon. By interpreting an observed structure in deep inelastic scattering (DIS) of leptons on protons as belonging to the proton, one can relate it to the structure of the exchanged photon, and visa versa. Predictions are given for the st...

Precision measurements of electroweak observables provide stringent tests of the Standard Model structure and an accurate determination of its parameters. A brief overview of the present experimental status is presented. A more extensive discussion can be found in Ref. 1.

We use the recently established higher-level Bailey lemma and Bose–Fermi polynomial identities for the minimal models M(p, p) to demonstrate the existence of a Bailey flow from M(p, p) to the coset models (A (1) 1 )N ×(A (1) 1 )N ′/(A (1) 1 )N+N ′ where N is a positive integer and N ′ is fractional, and to obtain Bose–Fermi identities for these models. The fermionic side of these identities is ...
